Community members, staff, students, and families are invited to attend the 2026 Senior Art Showcase in the Gallery on Saturday, April 11th beginning at 5pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the artistic excellence of Paseo's talented Seniors. This show will feature multimedia student art, art sales, and snacks!

As spring approaches, students at Paseo Academy will participate in the Missouri End‑of‑Course (EOC) Assessments. These assessments measure student progress toward Missouri Learning Standards and help guide instruction at the school, district, and state levels. KCPS invites families and community members to share their priorities through the Balancing Act Survey, helping guide district budget decisions. Join us for an inspiring evening as the Paseo Dance Department presents Junior Collaboration! Experience original choreography and powerful performances on Friday, March 20th at 6:00 PM. This donation-based show highlights the creativity and talent of our emerging dancers—don’t miss it!

After an extensive search that included meaningful collaboration with our staff and families, we are pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Kaleb Patterson as the next principal of Paseo Academy of Fine & Performing Arts.
Mr. Patterson is a strong and experienced leader with a proven record of success in arts-based education. His work has earned regional recognition, and we are confident he will be an exceptional leader for Paseo’s students, staff, and families. We are also excited to welcome him as a valued addition to the Kansas City Public Schools family.
Most recently, Mr. Patterson has served as assistant principal at Central High School in Springfield, Missouri. He previously worked as Director of Choirs at Marshfield Junior High School, where his ensembles earned two Grand Champion titles at the Music in the Parks competition.
In addition to his school-based leadership, Mr. Patterson has served as Director of the Richmond (VA) Men’s Chorus, Vice President of Junior High Choir for the South Central Missouri Music Educators Association, and President of the Associate Board for Springfield Little Theatre.
Mr. Patterson holds a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre Performance from Oklahoma City University, as well as a Master of Science and Specialist degree in Educational Administration from Southwest Baptist University, where he is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Administration.
We will share additional details soon regarding Mr. Patterson’s official start date, along with opportunities for students, staff, and families to meet and engage with him.

This season, our athletes are ready to bring the energy, the teamwork, and the Pirate pride to every field and track they step onto!
Kick off the season by cheering on our middle school Lady Pirates soccer team as they bring intensity, precision, and powerful competition to the pitch. Then head over to support our track athletes, who take the field with laces tied, lanes set, and the determination to run, jump, and throw their way to victory!
This season, our athletes are ready to bring the energy, the teamwork, and the Pirate pride to every field and track they step onto!

It’s National School Breakfast Week! Each morning this week, three breakfast trays will have a special sticker hidden underneath. Grab your breakfast, check your tray, and if you find a winning sticker, bring it to the cafeteria at lunch to claim a free a la carte item!
