After an extensive search that included meaningful collaboration with our staff and families, we are pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Kaleb Patterson as the next principal of Paseo Academy of Fine & Performing Arts.

Mr. Patterson is a strong and experienced leader with a proven record of success in arts-based education. His work has earned regional recognition, and we are confident he will be an exceptional leader for Paseo’s students, staff, and families. We are also excited to welcome him as a valued addition to the Kansas City Public Schools family.

Most recently, Mr. Patterson has served as assistant principal at Central High School in Springfield, Missouri. He previously worked as Director of Choirs at Marshfield Junior High School, where his ensembles earned two Grand Champion titles at the Music in the Parks competition.

In addition to his school-based leadership, Mr. Patterson has served as Director of the Richmond (VA) Men’s Chorus, Vice President of Junior High Choir for the South Central Missouri Music Educators Association, and President of the Associate Board for Springfield Little Theatre.

Mr. Patterson holds a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre Performance from Oklahoma City University, as well as a Master of Science and Specialist degree in Educational Administration from Southwest Baptist University, where he is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Administration.

We will share additional details soon regarding Mr. Patterson’s official start date, along with opportunities for students, staff, and families to meet and engage with him.
